Professor Dave Ellis has trained in takedowns and ground control for more than three decades. He competed internationally in Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, was nationally ranked in Judo from 2001–2008, and competed in the 2004 and 2008 Judo Olympic Trials. His teaching emphasizes fundamentals, analysis, and helping students play to their strengths.
